What's New
Please note!
We have recently introduced a new application form that will need to be submitted by all customers who wish to use our service. Please post or return the completed form here.
Essentially, this form will act to: -
- Safeguard against any misuse of the service &
- Provide us with more comprehensive details in case we need to contact you.
Additionally, all SWAHS employees who wish to use a particular cost code (now known as a responsibility centre) have the option of getting authorisation from their Departmental Managers for future use without needing a purchase requisition with each delivery. Departmental Managers can check their monthly statements for all journal transfers to our facility and contact us if they have any concerns.
A new delivery form has also been introduced to provide us with more comprehensive information on your samples. This form can also be used for GeneScan users. Please fill it out completely and email it as an attachment to contact@westmead-dna.org.au (no printing necessary).

Using an Apple Mac?

New ABI viewing software
Get the new Sequence Scanner software from Applied Biosystems. Find it in the downloads section.
Sample storage
All samples are kept for one month after the run. Reruns can only be performed on request within 14 days of the first run.
Printouts
We offer printouts of all electropherograms although we recommend software be used as an environmentally-friendly alternative. Software will give you valuable information about your analysis, such as signal strength, quality and raw data. For more information on software, visit our downloads section.
Where are my results?
Are they over 30 days old? Due to the large volume of sequencing results that are being stored on our web server, we have introduced a new system that will automatically remove files that are over 30 days old. Please make sure you download your results within 30 days or contact us to discuss alternative arrangements.
